An industrial campus, designed to manufacture alternators, required in the genset industry is planned on a 11 acre plot with a heavy gradient in both directions and a natural water channel running through the plot.
The topography which was a challenge on first look was translated into an opportunity and a state-of-the-art multi level manufacturing facility sits amidst nature with minimum impact to the environment.
The design was geared by critical analysis of the site environment with respect to function and nurturing sustainable thought process, which resulted in the creation of one of the first industrial complexes to be awarded he IGBC “GOLD” rating.
Rainwater harvesting through bores was undertaken along the flow path.
In addition to the mandatory green cover, a wooded forest was created on the abutting land. A uniquely designed “Down draft wind tower” was created for constant supply of cool air to the manufacturing area through underground ducts, maintaining the temp 10 deg lower than the ambient without any mechanical means.
